Position Summary

Drainage Engineer  WS3094

Salary Range: $84,243.60 - $97,812.88 per annum

Primary Objective of the position:

  • Design and implementation of the Drainage Capital Works Program (inclusive of drainage / stormwater systems, floodplain management, stormwater quality management facilities and coastal engineering).
  • Be an authority in Council on matters in relation drainage / stormwater, flooding and coastal engineering as well as engage in effective interaction and networking for the provision of advice at various levels within Council and external to Council.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil) and eligibility for corporate membership of Engineers Australia.
  • Class ‘C’ Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Experience in drainage/stormwater engineering within an organisation.
  • Familiarity with Waterway Sensitive Urban Design.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of drainage/stormwater planning principles and analysis including knowledge of requirements of Australian Standards, State Government Department and Federal Government Departments.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of civil engineering, with a focus on drainage/stormwater design.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering?
Essential: Do you have experience and design skills in roads and stormwater infrastructure?
Desirable: Do you have civil engineering and project management experience in a medium to large multi disciplined organisation?
Desirable: Do you have well-developed communication skills with demonstrated ability to write and present detailed technical reports?
