Position Summary

Technical / Project Officer  WS3089

Salary: $78,272.41 - $89,672.50 per annum

Location: Council Chambers, 119 - 145 Spence Street, Cairns

Primary Objectives of the position:-

  • Develop one, three, and 10-year renewal programs for road assets.  Road assets include surface treatments, pavement rehabilitation and kerb & channel works.
  • Prepare, implement and review Council’s Asset Management Plans for road assets.
  • Undertake asset revaluations and condition assessments for road assets.
  • Provide internal and external advice in relation to road assets, and respond to customers in relation to road queries.
  • Represent the asset owner in the specification and monitoring of the renewal program.

To be successful in this role you must have:- 

  • Tertiary qualifications relating to the position (e.g. Certificate IV Civil Construction, Associate Diploma Civil Engineering).
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of road asset programs.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Good level of skill in the use of relevant software packages.
