Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking an ICT Support Officer to join our Finance Department. 

Primary Objective of the position:

  • Cairns Regional Council Information Services (IS) branch is committed to providing quality ICT Services.
  • The IS branch operates a Service Support Team to drive and improve services to meet business requirements.  At an operational level the primary objective of the position is for the team to provide a single point of contact to give advice, guidance and the rapid restoration of normal services to internal customers and users.
  • To effectively manage Cairns Regional Council’s device fleet including but not limited to: Desktops, Laptops, Hybrids, Desktop Phones, Tablets and Mobile Phones, to enable and improve asset management, and optimise capability and service delivery for Councillors and Staff.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Formal qualifications in an Information Technology related discipline or demonstrated experience in support of Information Technology
  • ITIL certified or working towards certification
  • Demonstrated experience with providing first and second-line support with regards to ICT assets
  • Demonstrated experience in the support of information management systems including desktop productivity tools and business application systems, in particular the ability to demonstrate diagnostic and problem-solving capability
  • Good verbal communication skills with proven ability in providing excellent customer service

Selection Criteria Essential: Are you ITIL certified or working towards certification?
Essential: Do you have demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service skills within a large or multi functional organisation?
Essential: Do you have formal qualifications in an Information Technology related discipline or demonstrated experience in support of Information Technology?
Essential: Do you have sound understanding of the principles of highly effective communication and demonstrated application of these principles in provision of quality ICT support services?
Essential: Do you have demonstrated ability to actively participate in a team environment and experience in provision of coaching to peers?
