Primary Objective of the position:
- Demonstrate excellence in leadership including the ability to lead multi-disciplinary maintenance projects and provide guidance, mentoring and motivation to staff in a commercially oriented organisation.
- Lead and coordinate the effective delivery of services in accordance with the Branch’s business plan objectives, budgets and performance standards.
- Manage and coordinate the efficient operations of BEMS (Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services) across Council’s built asset portfolio.
- Act as senior facilities management adviser on matters of maintenance, refurbishment, energy conservation and capital works improvements to the managed buildings, facilities and plant.
- Oversee the commissioning of both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ FM services, coordinating both contracted and in-house service delivery teams.
- Develop sound professional, responsive customer focussed working relationships in order to achieve a positive outcome for Facilities Management and Council.
- Promote sustainability through the delivery of energy conservation measures across Council’s Buildings & Facilities portfolio in-line with Council’s Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS).
- Provide professional advice and support services through Operational Asset Management (OAM), to ensure Council's assets achieve their desired Levels of Service.
- OAM through the development and implementation of Preventative Maintenance Management Programs (PMMP’s) and cost effective strategies to minimise failures across Council assets and address any issues with the assessment of asset life and renewal of assets.
- Coordination, management and delivery of facilities related Capital Works projects resultant from CBFM strategies and associated renewal programmes.
- Focus on continuous improvement and customer service excellence through the development of tools and processes including but not limited to ‘benchmarking’, SMART performance targets, FM Service Portal, Customer Satisfaction Survey’s.
- Evaluate and develop systems, procedures and practices to keep pace with the changing needs of the organisation, especially in the development and implementation of energy conservation initiatives and sustainable programs and projects.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Qualifications in a Facilities Management related discipline and/or building related trade qualification with relevant industry experience, expertise and competence in facilities management.
- Current Queensland C Class Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated experience in facilities management.
- Excellence in leadership including the ability to lead multi‑disciplinary maintenance projects and provide guidance, mentoring and motivation to staff in a commercially oriented service delivery organisation.
- Proven experience in project management and the ability to compile business reports.
- Demonstrated high level computer skills including extensive experience using Microsoft Office suite.
