- Salary Range: $107,470.82 to $120,895.22 per annum
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high performing, suitability qualified and highly experienced development or planning professional to join our team in this key leadership role as our Coordinator Development Services (Planning).
Specifically, the role will lead the day-to-day operations of the Development Services (Planning) team in a way that facilitates development and maintains a collaborative working approach with industry consultants.
The role will be an important escalation point for industry consultants to resolve emerging issues, so negotiation and stakeholder management is fundamental to the role.
We are midway through an exciting change management process that seeks to ensure we are leaders in the delivery of development services. This role has key responsibilities for shaping this future direction and bringing knowledge about innovative approaches to service delivery.
Reporting to the Executive Manager Development and Planning, the purpose of this position is to lead, support and provide guidance to the Development Assessment team whilst working in collaboration with the Coordinator Development Services (Engineering) to oversee the operations and strategic direction of the Development Services Unit.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will require a high level of experience and demonstrated knowledge of the development and planning process, including knowledge about development assessment processes.
You will also be a natural participative style leader who is a strategic, innovative thinker with a firm understanding of development processes, project management, planning and ideally, Local Government.
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be second to none, including your ability use tact, diplomacy whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external customers.
An outcomes-based approach to managing tight deadlines and competing interests will be a key pillar of the role – as well as nurturing and mentoring our existing high performing team.
Applicants must have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
