As an IT Business Consultant within Information Services, you will be a key contributor for; engagement, communication and business / information technology alignment.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Demonstrated experience (5+ years) as an IT Business Analyst
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to communicate, negotiate and influence within a large organisation, especially at executive and senior management level
• Expertise in conducting requirement workshops and producing solid business cases
• Demonstrated experience in implementing business process improvements
• Solid knowledge of IT projects and delivery, including change management practices
• Tertiary qualification and/or relevant professional qualifications in Information Management, Information Technology (IT), Business Analysis or Project Management related discipline
• A team player with a positive, pro-active and customer focused attitude

Your Team:

The Information Services team is dedicated to supporting over 1,200 employees and is responsible for delivering a broad range of information technology solutions, in order to achieve business objectives and service to the Cairns community. 

This position sits within the Business Engagement team, which is responsible for effective strategic engagement between Information Services Branch and all Council departments, to understand and assist with the delivery of strategic initiatives involving ICT solutions.

The IT Business Consultant plays a key role in working collaboratively with Council departments, understanding business requirements and objectives, and helping to support and enable the business to achieve those objectives through the effective use of technology.
