Primary Objectives of the position:-
- To drive a strategic approach to civil maintenance, project delivery, cleansing services and operational maintenance services across Council’s facilities by developing initiatives that promote a consistent standard of service and using methods that are based on industry best practice.
- Ensure quality control of civil maintenance, project delivery, cleansing services and operational maintenance services by leading, providing technical advice, monitoring, supervising, programming and coordinating field works.
- Develop the potential of staff to achieve high levels of industry standards, specifications, training, knowledge and technical expertise.
- To implement and maintain maintenance strategies that optimise assets, services and deliver desired customer service outcomes.
- Provide an outstanding level of customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the service standards set by Cairns Regional Council.
To be successful in this role you must have:-
- Minimum Certificate III in Civil Construction, Business Administration or similar discipline.
- Advanced computing skills specifically aligned to the Microsoft suite of programs, including the ability to obtain expertise in Councils in-house programs.
- Current Queensland motor vehicle (Class “C”) licence.
- Certificates in Roadwork Signage and Traffic Control in accordance with MUTCD or an equivalent standard.
· Extensive supervisory experience gained in civil maintenance or similar discipline.
