The Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) will open its doors in December. Hosting an array of events and performances including plays, musical theatre, dance, comedy and contemporary and classical music performances. CPAC houses two venues, the main theatre with a seating capacity of 940 people and the studio with a seating capacity of 400. CPAC is a premier facility that will bring the precinct and the city to life and provide the people of Cairns with the finest performing arts experiences and a broad range of entertainment. 

We are now seeking highly energetic, motivated & enthusiastic individuals who have exceptional customer service skills and experience in theatre operations and/or hospitality.  The key focus of this role is to provide an exemplary customer service experience to all patrons who visit and attend events at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre.  

As part of a casual pool of staff you will be required to undertake a range of duties, including but not limited to: 

  • Assist patrons with customer enquiries
  • Bar Services, including restock bars, general waiting duties, taking orders, drinks and catering services
  • General cleaning duties (glassware, tables, catering, rubbish collection)
  • Set-up of functions & events
  • Provide carpark supervision / directing guests vehicles
  • Provide courtesy vehicle operations as required
  • Assist patrons to assigned seats
  • Collect / scan tickets
  • Receipt of moneys, cash credit or EFTPOS
  • Set-up and sell client merchandising

To be considered for this role you must have:  

  • A current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Experience in theatre operations and/or hospitality industry
  • Courteous and friendly disposition
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service

In addition to the above, due to the nature of the role applicants will need to be flexible and adaptable as various hours / shifts will apply.
