Account Manager - Marketing & Communications

Our Marketing and Communications team is now seeking to appoint a highly innovative, engaging and experienced Account Manager to develop exciting and visionary media and marketing strategies to promote Council’s services and initiatives to the Cairns community.
In this pivotal role will contribute to the effective and efficient operations of the Marketing & Communications Branch by:
- Coordinating Council’s proactive and strategic approach to marketing and community engagement.
- Leading the development, organisation and operation of strategically targeted marketing and engagement processes.
- Increasing community awareness, accessibility and profile of Council services and initiatives through strategic marketing and engagement initiatives.
- Managing the consistent presentation of Council’s corporate image through marketing and engagement activities.
To be successful you must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in one or more relevant fields, such as Communications or Integrated Marketing (or equivalent industry experience).
- High level public relations, marketing and media experience, including developing and implementing creative and effective marketing campaigns to promote projects, services and activities (preferably in a corporate or government environment).
- Journalistic skills, including feature writing, technical writing, speechwriting and providing succinct and effective press releases.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels to achieve desired outcomes.
- Highly effective communications skills on all levels are essential – ability to persuade and change perceptions is vital.
