Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Finance Department. 

Primary Objective of the position:

  • Provide project and program management services to the organisation, primarily for projects, delivering IT capabilities.
  • Provide change management services to ensure that IT projects are successfully implemented and adopted within the business in a manner that ensures the desired business outcomes and benefits are achieved.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in an Information Management, Information Technology or Project Management related discipline.
  • Strong and demonstrated experience in Project Management.  Successful delivery of large, complex projects (e.g. budget > $2m, duration > 1 year, staffing levels > 10 FTE).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management and governance practices – developing project briefs, project plans, risk management plan, quality plans and communication plans from small to large projects.
  • Proven ability to communicate, negotiate and influence within an organisation, especially at executive and senior management level.
