We are now seeking an exceptionally talented, suitably qualified and highly experienced Arts & Cultural Grant Coordinator to join our Cultural Services team now. 

The Arts & Cultural Grant Coordinator plays a critical role in the management and implementation of the Cultural Services team’s program strategies. The position requires an individual who can balance strong attention to detail, analytical skills, with well-honed written and oral communication and the ability to effectively work with a large number of internal and external stakeholders. 

The key objectives of the role are to:  

  • Working collaboratively across the Cultural Services Branch to assist a highly motivated and experienced team develop and expand the capacity and capability of the branch’s strategic planning, programs and projects.
  • Researching and identifying available grants, philanthropic and sponsorship opportunities that will enable and support the growth of the branch’s core business and strategic goals.
  • Developing and fortifying existing and new partnerships and collaborators in order to support the growth and viability of the region’s cultural and creative industries through targeted investment.
  • Preparing high-level funding proposals, tenders and expressions of interest that build a compelling case to leverage and attract investment for a diverse range of infrastructure, resources and programs delivered by the Cultural Services Branch.
  • Managing and expanding the reach and capacity of all and specifically the following Arts and Cultural Grant Programs in order to build and sustain the viability and productivity of community-based organisations, local artists and cultural and creative practitioners:
  • Regional Arts Development Fund program (RADF) in accordance with Council’s RADF General Policy and long-term and ongoing partnership with Arts Queensland. Our aim is to revitalise, invigorate and reshape this important program to align with the strategic objectives of Council’s Strategy for Culture and the Arts 2022.  
  • Arts and Cultural In Kind Assistance program in accordance with Council’s Community Grants Policy. Our aim is to encourage the development of local community arts and cultural programs and activities and to foster opportunities for local arts and cultural activities that make a positive creative contribution to the region. 

To be successful in this role you must have:  

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications and demonstrated experience and significant achievement in funding and sponsorship in the Australian Arts and Cultural field.
  • Highly developed understanding of the National and State arts and cultural environment, particularly in regard to funding trends.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing high-quality grant submissions, tenders and expressions of interest.
  • Excellent report writing skills and high level of literacy.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in effectively working and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, funding bodies, service providers, NFP organisations, and/or selection panels.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience and significant achievement in funding and sponsorship in the Australian Arts and Cultural field?
Essential: Do you have demonstrated experience in the preparation of briefing notes, reports, project and financial documentation?
Essential: Do you have a high level of competency in administrative processes including the preparation of routine correspondence and the use of Microsoft Office software?
Essential: Do you have experience with grant applications and assessments?
Essential: Do you have eligibility / the right to work in Australia?
