Position Summary

City Safe Officer

Salary Range: $67,117 to $71,688 per annum

Location: The Esplanade, Cairns

Primary Objectives:

The City Safe Officer is required to:

  • To oversee CitySafe program and related services and to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate crime prevention and community safety responses to identified needs.
  • To work collaboratively with Local Laws Officers to develop an integrated approach to crime prevention and community safety.
  • To develop and sustain strategic partnerships and networks with agencies including but not limited to Qld Police, Liquor Licensing, Fair Trading and Qld Health that enable and enhance CitySafe program development.
  • Oversee and provide leadership to contracted security staff to ensure that desired productivity levels are achieved and a strong customer focus is maintained.

To be eligible for this position you must have the following qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications and or extensive experience in community crime prevention or related field.
  • Current Drivers Licence

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have previous experience working in Local Government?
Essential: Do you have a Certificate IV in Government (Investigations)?
Essential: Do you have tertiary qualifications and or extensive experience in community crime prevention or related field?
