Position Summary

Parks Operations Gardener - 2 Positions Available

Salary: $47,932.16 per annum 

We are currently seeking two Parks Operations Gardeners at Munro Martin Park / Esplanade.   

  • Full-Time Permanent Positions
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • 12% contribution to superannuation

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- 

  • Maintain gardens and turfed areas, and carry out programmed upgrade and establishment of new gardens as required.
  • The safe and sanitary presentation of public areas and facilities.
  • Perform day-to-day cleaning and programmed maintenance as required.
  • Monitor and report defects and problems in a timely manner.
  • Provide general assistance as required for setting up for events and functions etc.
  • Venue supervision, including the monitoring of users during events to ensure the integrity of Council’s property

Pre-Employment Assessments: 

As part of the selection process, the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following pre-employment assessments; 

  • Pre-employment medical, which will include a functional capacity assessment and drug and alcohol test.
  • National police/criminal history check.

A six (6) month probationary period will also apply. 

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have a current and valid C Class Drivers' Licence or above?
Essential: Do you have previous experience in amenity and garden maintenance?
Desirable: Do you have a current First Aid Certificate?
Desirable: Do you have a Certificate III in Horticulture or related discipline?
Desirable: Do you hold a current and valid MR Drivers' Licence?
