Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking an Assets Coordinator to join our Water & Waste Department on a fixed term basis until December 2021. 

Primary Objectives of the position:

  • Lead and manage the asset information management program for Water & Waste to achieve branch and corporate performance objectives.
  • Develop and Maintain asset management systems, process and procedures to ensure service delivery standards of Council’s Water, Wastewater and Solid Waste Assets.
  • Manage and lead the development and implementation of Asset Management Plans for Water, Wastewater and Waste Services asset classes.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering with experience in the Water Industry. 
  • Extensive experience in asset management, asset operations or asset maintenance in the Water Industry or related capital intensive industry. 
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare sound reports, memorandums and correspondence.   
  • Demonstrated ability using effective negotiation skills when dealing with clients.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have a tertiary qualification in engineering with experience in the Water Industry?
Essential: Do you have extensive experience in asset management, asset operations or asset maintenance in the Water Industry or related capital intensive industry?
Essential: Do you have a current and valid C Class Drivers' Licence or above?
