Position Summary

Cadet Surveyor
(Fixed-Term up to 4 years)

Salary Range: $51,129.76 - $70,129.06 pro-rata per annum
Location: 158a Martyn Street, Cairns
Closing:  Monday 11th November 2019

The primary purpose of this position is to develop technical expertise in the field of surveying through external studies, field work, and mentoring / training from the Principal Surveyor and Surveyors in order to:

  • Program, organise and supervise all resources necessary to provide surveying services.
  • Carry out investigations and construction surveys for works and projects undertaken by any Council department.

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Must meet eligibility requirements in order to enrol at the University of Southern Queensland to complete external studies towards an Associate Degree in Spatial Sciences (Surveying).
  • Queensland "C" Class Driver's Licence.
  • Be prepared to undertake study as an external student.
  • Willingness to continually develop technical expertise and experience.
  • Problem solving abilities, skills and an ability to display initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
