Cadet Surveyor (Fixed-Term up to 4 years)
Reference Number: 12943 Salary Range: $51,129.76 - $70,129.06 pro-rata per annum Location: 158a Martyn Street, Cairns Closing: Monday 11th November 2019
The primary purpose of this position is to develop technical expertise in the field of surveying through external studies, field work, and mentoring / training from the Principal Surveyor and Surveyors in order to:
- Program, organise and supervise all resources necessary to provide surveying services.
- Carry out investigations and construction surveys for works and projects undertaken by any Council department.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- Must meet eligibility requirements in order to enrol at the University of Southern Queensland to complete external studies towards an Associate Degree in Spatial Sciences (Surveying).
- Queensland "C" Class Driver's Licence.
- Be prepared to undertake study as an external student.
- Willingness to continually develop technical expertise and experience.
- Problem solving abilities, skills and an ability to display initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
