Primary Objectives of the position:-
- To ensure their precinct is maintained as efficiently and effectively, applicable to their star rating within given budgetary constraints.
- Organise and direct field operations for the precinct and to take a hands-on role with the team in activities.
- Undertake precinct and parks maintenance inspections.
- Provide an outstanding level of customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the service standards set by Cairns Works Maintenance.
- Maintain high levels of record keeping.
To be successful in this role you must have:-
- Certificate 3 minimum in Horticulture or related discipline commensurate with the position.
- Current Queensland Light Rigid Driver’s Licence.
- Experience in Traffic Control and roadwork signage in accordance with MUTCD.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and proven success in the planning and delivery of efficient, effective and timely precinct maintenance and horticultural services.
- Substantial precinct maintenance experience gained in a similar position.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of powered tools such as push-mowers, chainsaws, brush cutters, pole saws, hedge trimmers etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and practical experience in irrigation systems, in tree pruning and herbicide application.
