Position Summary

Senior Field Officer

Reference Number: 13123
Salary Range: $65,245.44 - $76,644.04 per annum
Location: MacNamara Street Water Laboratory 
Closing: Monday 3rd February 2020

Primary objectives of the position:

  • Coordinate and supervise the Laboratory’s sampling programs utilising the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Manage the Laboratory Assistant / Field Officer team.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, repair and calibration of field equipment.
  • Consult with internal and external clients on sampling requirements.

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science or other relevant field (e.g. Chemistry, Biology or other relevant science subjects).
  • Queensland C Class Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
  • Boat licence (or ability and willingness to acquire).
  • Demonstrated experience in water sampling and operation of field based chemical testing equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation and management of sampling programs.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a small team.
  • Well-developed communication skills with a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively, and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
