We are seeking a dynamic, customer focussed communications professional to work on a variety of infrastructure projects for Cairns Regional Council. The individual we are seeking must thrive in a fast paced environment, have impeccable written and oral communication skills and have the ability to interact & develop a great rapport with a wide range of stakeholders. You must also be well versed in writing public communication reports and materials, researching, contacting and managing stakeholders, organising public meetings and functions or displays, compiling public notices and conducting community engagement activities.
Primary Objectives of the position:-
- Undertaking consultation and community engagement activities for Council infrastructure projects during their construction.
- Preparing communication and community engagement strategies for the Department.
To be successful in this role you must have:-
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as communications, community engagement (or equivalent industry experience).
- Extensive experience in community engagement practices, marketing and promoting activities.
- Current Qld driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated ability to apply processes, principles and strategies for effective community engagement activities.
