Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Maintenance Management System Project Officer to join our Central Civil Maintenance Department. 

 Primary objectives of the position:

  • The ongoing operation of the maintenance management system in Cairns Works for the Central District.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of Cairns Works’ services, processes and procedures.
  • Prepare reports for Cairns Works Management.
  • Undertake specific tasks / projects associated with the delivery of maintenance activities.

 To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Year 12 Education.
  • Current Open C-Class Driver’s License.
  • General Construction Safety White Card.
  • Demonstrated workplace experience in Civil Engineering, Business, Accounting or a similar professional discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability, or ability to acquire budgeting skills including preparing estimates and budgets (good understanding of intermediate level mathematics required).
  • Advanced computer skills to achieve required outcomes using Council’s network, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access databases.
  • Good level of oral and written communication skills, with an ability to prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within and adapt to different team environments.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have a current and valid C Class Drivers' Licence or above?
Essential: Are you proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly MS Word, Outlook and Excel?

Essential: Do you have a Grade 10 or 12 Secondary Education Certificate?
Desirable: Have you undertaken the Course "Working in Proximity to Traffic - Awareness Part 1"?
Desirable: Have you undertaken the Course "Working in Proximity to Traffic - Awareness Part 2 Works Protection Methods"?
Essential: Do you have demonstrated qualifications and experience relevant to the position?
