Primary Objective of the position:
- Administer and maintain Cairns Botanic Gardens Nurseries to ensure that customers are provided with a quality product in a timely manner.
- Maintain and manage the Cairns Botanic Gardens potted collection and display houses to an appropriate industry standard for Botanic Gardens.
- Maintain high levels of record keeping.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Certificate III minimum in Horticulture (Nursery Stream) or related discipline commensurate with the position.
- Current LR Class Drivers licence or ability to obtain within six (6) months.
- White Card (General Safety Construction).
- Computer literacy and competency with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, in particular MS Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the production and maintenance of a diverse range of tropical plant families.
- High degree of skill relating to identification, lifecycle and habitat of tropical plants.
