Primary Objectives of the position:-
- Responsible for the maintenance management of Council’s $40m Fleet Asset portfolio.
- Effective management of the Fleet Mechanical and Metal Fabrication Services, contributing to cost‑effective maintenance of fleet assets in support of Council operations.
- Build and maintain effective business relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.
- Proactive leadership of Mechanical and Fabrication Workshops to achieve performance targets.
To be successful in this role you must have:-
- Current Queensland Driver’s licence Class C or higher.
- Relevant trade qualifications and significant experience in an industry leadership role.
- Demonstrated industry knowledge, skills and expertise in application of maintenance standards for vehicles and mobile plant.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and achieving high productivity outcomes within a mechanical workshop environment, including budget and cost control.
- Sound computer skills, incorporating the use of Word and Excel with demonstrated experience in Fleet Management Systems.
- Good understanding of corporate systems such as work order/management, supply/purchasing, or fleet management.
