Salary: $58,977.16 per annum

Primary Objectives of the position:-

  • To ensure their precinct is maintained as efficiently and effectively, applicable to their star rating within given budgetary constraints.
  • Organise and direct field operations for the precinct and to take a hands-on role with the team in activities.
  • Undertake precinct and parks maintenance inspections.
  • Provide an outstanding level of customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the service standards set by Cairns Works Maintenance.
  • Maintain high levels of record keeping.

To be successful in this role you must have:- 

  • Current Queensland Light Rigid Driver’s Licence.
  • Experience in Traffic Control and roadwork signage in accordance with MUTCD.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and proven success in the planning and delivery of efficient, effective and timely precinct maintenance and horticultural services.
  • Substantial precinct maintenance experience gained in a similar position.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of powered tools such as push-mowers, chainsaws, brush cutters, pole saws, hedge trimmers etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and practical experience in irrigation systems, in tree pruning and herbicide application.
