About the position:
- Cairns Regional Council Information Services (IS) branch is committed to providing quality ICT Services.
- The IS branch operates a Service Support Team to drive and improve services to meet business requirements. At an operational level the primary objective of the position is to provide a single point of contact to give advice, guidance and the rapid restoration of normal services to internal customers and users.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Formal qualifications in an Information Technology related discipline or demonstrated experience in support of Information Technology.
- Demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service skills within a large or multi-functional organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in the support of information management systems including desktop productivity tools and business application systems, in particular the ability to demonstrate diagnostic and problem solving capability.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse situations, negotiate and manage priorities to ensure service levels are maintained.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
- Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a team environment and experience in provision of providing coaching to peers.
