Fleet Hire Supervisor  WS1111

Salary Range: $78,901.05 - $84,161.69 per annum

Locations: Martyn Street Depot, 158A Martyn Street, Cairns

Primary Objective of the position:

  • Custodian of Council’s fleet assets.
  • Administration and supervision of the Register of Pre‑qualified Suppliers for Wet & Dry Hire Construction Equipment Contract.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of operators, plant / vehicle hire requirements and assist in the outcome of customer construction and maintenance projects.
  • As fleet custodian, review fleet profile to ensure it meets operational requirements and Council’s corporate objectives.
  • Actively promote and develop customer relationship, teamwork, and individual support to meet agreed service levels through optimising fleet hire plant, vehicles, operators, owner / drivers, and contractors.
  • Demonstrate innovative solutions in problem solving and achieving customer needs.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Certificate III or higher Leadership or Management.
  • Current Driver’s licence Class C.
  • Blue or White Card for Construction.
  • Ability to obtain other relevant qualifications as directed.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have demonstrated experience in leadership including staff management?
Essential: Are you proficient in computer applications, in particular MS Word, MS Outlook Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint and MS Publisher?
Essential: Do you have a current and valid C Class Drivers' Licence or above?
Desirable: Do you have previous experience working in Local Government?
