Primary Objectives of the position:-
- The Horticultural Ganger’s primary objective is to organise and direct the field operations of the Horticultural Crew and Contractors thus ensuring efficient use of resources in delivering a high quality of presentation whilst complying with all environmental and safe work practices.
- To undertake maintenance inspections reporting on all noteworthy aspects.
- To provide a safe depot environment and security.
To be successful in this role you must have:-
- Current Qld Light Rigid (LR) class driver’s licence
- Certificate III in Horticulture or associated field and/or demonstrated experience to perform the duties
- Implement Traffic Management Plan Competency (formerly Traffic Management Level 2)
- Substantial horticultural maintenance experience gained in a similar position
- Demonstrated ability and a physical capacity to undertake a variety of strenuous labouring tasks in a tropical environment associated with Landscape & Horticultural Maintenance Activities
- Demonstrated skills and proven success in the planning and delivery of efficient, effective and timely Landscape & Horticultural maintenance services
- Knowledge and experience in the safe use of mowers, snippers, chainsaws, pole saws, hedging tools etc, including the application of general use herbicides & pesticides
