We are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced administrator with a financial / grants background to join our Events Team now. The key focus of this role is to manage customer service and administration duties within the events team, specifically (but not limited to) providing support in relation to Council’s grants program.
Key Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing advice and support; and disseminating information about Council’s Grants program to members of the public.
- Coordinate grant round preparation and grant assessments.
- Administering grant applications through point of receipt and up to acquittal sign off.
- Ensuring adherence to Council Grant Policy and Grant Procedures.
- Actively contributing towards process improvements and/or Customer Service improvements.
- Implement and seek to improve Council’s Event Grants Program, focusing on assessment and acquittal frameworks and systems, economic impact assessments where appropriate and possible Council cost mitigation strategies.
- Work within the Cairns Regional Council events team to facilitate the delivery and funding of events.
- Facilitate and provide support to assist the delivery of externally delivered events through application assistance, grant funding assessments, and internal resource coordination (i.e. road closures and park bookings etc.).
- Maintain details of approved event funding agreements in Council’s register of multi-year funding agreements.
- Administrative Duties
To be successful in this role you will require:
- Senior Certificate and suitable qualifications relevant to secretarial and clerical work.
- Current Queensland drivers licence.
- Experience with grant applications and assessments.
- Financial experience with regards to grants administration and acquittals.
- Understanding of and adherence to business administration processes.
- Sound experience of; and aptitude for; dealing with members of the public via phone and/or e-mail.
- Demonstrated ability to apply project management and organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, schedule and to meet deadlines in a busy and demanding environment.
- Experience in the use of Authority, Artifax, Microsoft suite, Matman, and document management systems.
- Capacity to manage time effectively, identify workload priorities and meet deadlines.
- High levels of energy and commitment to the job.
