Primary Objective of the position:

  • Don't miss your opportunity to snap up a fantastic role working in our Natural Assets team in a full time permanent role

  • In this role you will enjoy undertaking a diverse range of tasks which will ensure that no two days are ever the same! You will be running customer contact, pest management, planned burn & revegetation activities
  • With a solid background in providing high level land managment activities, you are a supportive team player with a strong solution focus & enjoy practical, hands on work in Cairn's natural surrounds
  • If you enjoy a real challenge, community contact & have an interest in learning about the services and programs our Department provides to the community then this is not a role to be missed

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Cert III Horticulture, Cert II Conservation & Land Management or extensive experience in an environmental &/or land management role
  • ACDC Licence or ability to obtain / Senior First Aid Certificate / Chainsaw level II
  • Willingness & desirability to participate in fire management activities
  • Able to identify declared species & manage & control same e.g. landscaping, forestry, environmental repair, park development, pest plant & animal control
  • Willingness to undertake pest animal destruction activities
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake a wide variety of physically demanding labouring tasks in a range of climatic conditions and terrains

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have a Certificate II in Conservation & Land Management or extensive experience in an environmental and / or land management role?
Essential: Do you have a current and valid Agricultural Chemical Distribution (ACDC) Certificate?
Essential: Do you hold a current and valid Level 2 Chainsaw Ticket?
Desirable: Do you hold a current Queensland Firearms Licence or ability to obtain?
Desirable: Do you have a current and valid General Construction Safety White Card?
Essential: Do you have a Senior First Aid certificate?
Desirable: Do you have previous experience working in Local Government?
