Coordinator Project Delivery - IT

Our commitment to delivering high quality services to the community means we need talented, motivated, committed people – we need you! Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Coordinator Project Delivery - IT to join our Information Services Branch. This is the perfect opportunity for a candidate looking to progress to a Leadership role within the Information Technology industry.

 

Primary Objectives of the position:

  • Lead, manage, develop and mentor staff within the team to successfully deliver reliable management and delivery of projects as part of Cairns Regional Council's "Business Programme" or "Technology Programme", including work operations, forward planning and budget;
  • Work collaboratively with the Information Services branch leadership group to plan and implement an effective IT Strategy for Cairns Regional Council;
  • Work collaboratively with the Information Services branch leadership group to identify and execute plans to develop ‘strategic partnerships’ with vendors and other 3rd parties (e.g. NBNCo, JCU);
  • Prepare tenders, contracts, scope of works, and other documentation for projects.  Maintain security and risk management standards and ensure compliance and communication of results against those standards; and
  • Work collaboratively with the Manager Information Services and Coordinator - Business Engagement to implement the ‘project office’ processes that define the standards for; project prioritisation & assessment, a project governance framework, project management deliverables and resource planning.

 What you'll need to succeed:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Information Technology related discipline;
  • Strong people skills and stakeholder relationship management and engagement ability;
  • Extensive experience in the management of Information Technology functions, projects, and multiple project managers;
  • Detailed knowledge of trends in cost effective provision of information technologies for a large, multi-functional organisation;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management methodologies;
  • Experience in business requirements collection, analysis, system and data design concepts;
  • Experience in the delivery of medium to large enterprise change management in a team and stakeholder based environment;
  • Ability to adapt to new ideas and concepts and relate those to business scenarios; and
  • Demonstrated ability to taking a proactive, solutions focused and continuous improvement orientation to achieving goals and delivering quality outcomes.

As part of the selection process the successful candidate will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, which will include a drug and alcohol test and a national police history check.

Salary range between $86,413.35 to $106,347.60 per annum dependant upon qualifications, skills and relevant eperience. Cairns Regional Council offers flexible working arrangements, a 19 day month rostered day off,  generous leave loading (17.5%) superannuation contributions, and an Employee Assistance Program.
