An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced, high performing marketing and communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced diverse role who will drive our marketing campaigns, boost sales and promote our events and programs across our venues at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC), Munro Martin Parklands, Tanks Arts Centre, The Court House, Cairns Festival and Ticketlink.

In this hands-on role you will: 

  • Work with the media and tourism organisations to ensure media coverage regarding events / sales
  • Produce media releases
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns
  • Liaise with venue hirers and show promoters to coordinate marketing services
  • Write, produce and distribute, electronic direct mail (EDMs)
  • Assist with development, including writing of articles, for Vibrance Magazine as required
  • Develop engaging content for Cultural Services social media
  • Update Council web sites

To be successful in this role you will require: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in the disciplines of public relations, marketing or appropriate skills and or high-level experience in marketing and promotion of arts venues and activities
  • Experience in implementing creative and effective public relations campaigns to promote projects, services and activities, ideally within a Local Government or Arts environment
  • Experience in professional writing communications such as public relations, brand communication, journalism, and marketing
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills
  • A friendly and positive attitude and passion for your work
  • The ability to adapt to rapidly to changing priorities, with a strong focus on deliverables
  • The ability to think creatively and increase engagement and sales
  • High level of initiative
