Senior Payroll Officer Reference Number: 12598 Salary Range: $70,000.42 - $74,767.38 per annum Location: 119-145 Spence Street, Cairns Closing: Friday 24th September 2018 Applications: Must be submitted online, applications not addressing the full selection criteria will not be accepted.
Primary objectives of the position:
- To assist in ensuring the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the Payroll Team with a key focus on accuracy, professionalism and customer service.
- Maintain expert knowledge of relevant awards and employment contracts, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, superannuation and salary sacrifice arrangements and Elected Representatives Remuneration Policy and provide assistance to ensure that each of these are effectively maintained.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- Demonstrated experience relevant to the position.
- Sound knowledge of, and experience in processing payroll for a large and complex organisation.
- Sound knowledge of and experience in interpreting awards, enterprise bargaining and other industrial agreements.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Tax Office regulations in relation to payroll tax, PAYG and superannuation legislation.
- Experience in a senior role within a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships across peer and internal customer groups.
