Position Summary

Fleet Workshop Supervisor  WS1109

Salary Range: $78,901.05 - $84,161.69 per annum

Locations: Martyn Street Depot, 158A Martyn Street, Cairns

Primary Objective of the position is to supervise the fleet workshops:

  • Effective management of the fleet mechanical and metal fabrication services business, contributing to cost‑effective maintenance of fleet assets and service levels which meet service level agreements.
  • Build and maintain effective business relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Proactive leadership of mechanical and fabrication workshops in delivering performance targets.
  • Demonstrate innovative solutions in problem solving and achieving industry best practice through business improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Relevant trade qualifications and significant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Current Queensland C or above Driver's Licence. 
  • Demonstrated industry knowledge, skills and expertise in application of maintenance standards for vehicles and mobile plant.

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and achieving high productivity outcomes in scheduling within a mechanical workshop environment, including financial management, budget and cost control.
  • Sound computer skills, incorporating the  use of Word and Excel with demonstrated experience in Fleet Management Systems.
  • Good understanding of corporate systems such as work order/management, supply/purchasing, or fleet management.
  • Proven ability to supervise, develop and motivate staff, including WH&S principles and practices, training, and coaching skills.

Selection Criteria Desirable: Are you proficient in computer applications, in particular MS Word, MS Outlook Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint and MS Publisher?
Desirable: Do you hold a current and valid HR Drivers' Licence?
Essential: Do you have trade experience in a Fleet Mechanical Workshop?
