Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Apprentice Fitter & Turner to join our Water & Waste Department.
Primary Objective of the position:
- Assist in the repair and service of Council's Water & Waste Assets while achieving the competency’s and training required to successfully complete Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Maintenance) Fitting and/or Turning pathway
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Current Queensland Driver's Licence
- Working Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
- Ability to complete/maintain training required to/and work; in Confined Spaces and Working at Heights
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships in a friendly and flexible manner
