Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Finance Administrator to join our Finance Department.
This position will work closely with the Senior Management Accountant to fulfil our financial administration needs. This includes incoming grant administration, show reconciliations/reporting as well as ad-hoc analysis.
The incumbent will also work closely with the Cultural Services department to ensure they receive the financial administration support needed.
Primary Objective of the position:
- Promote a “We are here to help” culture within the Finance Department.
- Work in conjunction with the Senior Management Accountant to deliver financial administrative needs.
- Assist with the administration of incoming grants including applications, reporting and acquittals.
- Prepare and process prompt and accurate event reconciliations and settlement statements for all Ticketlink ticketed events.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- A relevant diploma or extensive financial administration experience.
- An understanding of basic accounting principles, accounts payable and receivable, account reconciliation, banking and related tasks.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while working within tight timelines.
- Ability to think analytically when faced with new information or problems.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook.
