Events Development Officer - 12 Month Contract

We are now seeking a highly interactive, energetic and suitably qualified and/or highly experienced events development superstar to join our team now!
The key focus of this role is to:
- Facilitate growth in events across the region to achieve positive community and economic outcomes.
- Coordinate the implementation and delivery of the recommendations of the TNQ Event Prioritisation Strategy through Council-wide initiatives.
- Coordinate Council’s response to events and event opportunities across the region
- Provide timely and expert advice to event organisers regarding event logistics and requirements with limited direction.
The candidate we are seeking must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field, such as Events Management or Tourism at a Bachelor Degree level and/or
- Experience at a significant level of organisational responsibility in events management and sponsorship sourcing.
- Current Queensland Drivers’ Licence.
- Well-founded understanding of the events industry, including technical and logistical aspects.
- A professional attitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in establishing and monitoring contracts, ideally associated with the funding or sponsorship of major events.
- The ability to multitask and work independently whilst under pressure.
