Community Development Officer

Primary Objective of the position:

This position is responsible for the planning, development and facilitation of a range of community initiatives across the Cairns Regional Council area that contribute to meeting community needs and aspirations.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in community development, social sciences, social work or a related field.
• Extensive experience in a similar role.
• The ability to work within strategic community development frameworks using contemporary practice principles.
• Demonstrated understanding of the role of Local Government and the current trends and needs of the regional community.
• Demonstrated community engagement practice inlcuding the ability to identify and develop partnerships.
