Volunteers Support Officer (Outdoors)

Reference Number: 11172

Salary Range: $50,036.88 per annum

Location: Botanic Gardens Precincts / Mt Whitfield Arrow Tracks

Primary Objectives:

  • Supervise, educate and motivate volunteers and work placement personnel in the inspection and maintenance of tracks and trails on Council controlled land including but not limited to Mt Whitfield Arrow Tracks.
  • Assist with other Green Space Our Place volunteer programs.

To be eligible for this position you must have the following qualifications:

  • Qualifications or demonstrated experience in Land Conservation Management and track maintenance.
  • Understanding of the necessary Australian industry standards applicable to track construction and maintenance.
  • Qualifications and/or experience in the use and operation of machinery relevant to hard landscaping and track maintenance.
  • Experience in landscape construction techniques and walking track maintenance.
  • ACDC chemical applicators license / White Card (General Safety – Construction) / First Aid Certificate.

Pre-Employment Assessment 

As part of the selection process, the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following pre-employment assessments;

  • a pre-employment medical assessment, which will include a functional capacity assessmenta drug and alcohol test.
  • a national police/criminal history check.

Essential: Do you have a Senior First Aid certificate?
Essential: Do you have qualifications or demonstrated experience in Land Conservation Management and track maintenance?
Essential: Do you have an understanding of the necessary Australian industry standards applicable to track construction and maintenance?
