Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Plumbing Inspector to join our Water & Resource Recovery Department.
Primary Objective of the position:
To provide a plumbing, drainage and trade waste approval and inspection service, professionally and efficiently, which:
- Conforms to the process and technical requirements of the Planning Act 2016, the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018, Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008 and the Local Government Act 2009 and other relevant legislation.
- Ensures that plumbing and drainage installations attain the required legislated technical and performance standards; and
- Ensures that clients receive the highest level of service and professional advice to assist them attains the required standards in the developments for which they are responsible.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Qualified and currently licensed as a "Plumber and Drainer".
- Eligibility to be deemed a Plumbing Inspector in accordance with the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018.
- Queensland C Class Driver's Licence.
- Practical / sound experience in all aspects of Domestic / Commercial plumbing and drainage as well as experience in Local Government Water Supply and Sewerage.
- Sound written communication skills with the ability to write reports, correspondence and memorandums.
