Cairns Regional Council is seeking a suitably qualified Community Engagement Librarian with a passion for libraries and providing exceptional customer service to join our team now!
Reporting to the Libraries Business Engagement Team Leader, the primary objective of the position is to:
- Work collaboratively across the Library Services unit to undertake strategic planning and operational projects.
- Develop and deliver services, programs, events and community outreach initiatives that enhance community engagement, life-long learning and cultural aspirations.
- Develop and nurture partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide effective leadership and coordination of volunteers including recruitment, selection and relationship management.
- Provide effective management, planning and coordination of the Cairns Libraries Homebound service.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- COVID-19 Vaccination.
- Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) accredited undergraduate or post-graduate university qualification in library and information science with eligibility for Associate (professional) membership of ALIA.
- Current Qld Drivers Licence.
- Blue Card.
- Knowledge and ability to apply community engagement principles in the development and delivery of relevant stakeholder relationships, library programs and events.
- Proven highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to write reports and proposals along with other material to a high standard.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills including the ability to provide leadership and work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members.
