Position Summary

Project & Development Engineer  WS3193

Salary: $85,928.47 - $91,465.95 per annum

Location: Council Chambers, 119 – 145 Spence Street, Cairns

Primary Objectives of the position:-

  • Project Management of Council’s minor Transport and Drainage projects.
  • Be an authority in Council on matters in relation to development works in the area of transport, drainage/stormwater and flooding.
  • Engage in effective interaction and networking for the provision of advice at various levels within Council and external to Council.

To be successful in this role you must have:- 

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil) or equivalent technical qualification recognised by Professionals Australia.
  • Class ‘C’ Australian Driver’s License.
  • Experience in development works, in an engineering capacity.
  • Demonstrated skills and working knowledge of Project Management principles and Council’s FNQROC Development Manual.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal, State and Local Government legislation, regulations, standards, policies procedures and guidelines relevant to infrastructure planning and development.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of civil engineering, with a focus on transport and drainage.
