Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Customer Service Officer to join our Finance Department.

Primary objectives of the position:

  • To participate and contribute to the Customer Service Team on a rotational roster to deliver a high level of services to the residents and ratepayers of the Cairns Regional Council.

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Secondary education to at least Grade 10 and preferably Grade 12.
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Customer Service and /or Call Centre experience.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Council policies, procedures and workflows.
  • Skills, knowledge or experience of cash handling, administration, and technology suitable to a Customer Service Centre environment.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have Customer Service and /or Call Centre experience?
Essential: Do you have a current and valid C Class Drivers' Licence or above?
Essential: Do you have familiarity with Customer Request Management systems?
Essential: Do you have demonstrated high level computer skills in particular the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word/Excel)?
