Salary Range: $55,460.66 - $68,199.11 per annum

Our Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate will be a positive, friendly person who works well independently as well as in a team environment and can establish productive relationships with colleagues along with internal and external stakeholders. They will have experience in a high volume office environment with a good grasp on the Microsoft Office Suite of products and the ability to quickly learn various software applications used by Council.

They will pay attention to detail and achieve a high degree of accuracy with their work whilst following established procedures. They will be professional in their approach and committed to delivering outstanding customer service at all times.

Your Team:

The Business Administration team provides support to various business units of council including:

  • Building Services
  • Plumbing & Trade Waste
  • Development, Planning & Property
  • Community (and other) Grants

Building Services are the archiving body for Private Certifiers. We process engagement notices, building applications and final inspection certificates received from private certifiers and conduct various searches for solicitors and the public for building related items such as building plans and permit searches.

Plumbing & Trade Waste support Council’s plumbing inspectors by processing applications and approvals, booking inspections and managing their calendars, conducting sewer plan searches and many other administrative tasks.

For Development, Planning & Property we support council officers with development application processing, sending out decision notices, capturing submissions, receipting, processing refunds,  assisting with property compliance documentation and many other administrative tasks.

For Community (and other) Grants, we provide administrative support entering grant applications, producing assessment sheets, conducting some eligibility checks, and sending correspondence to successful and unsuccessful applicants.

This position could be placed in any of these areas and cross training across each can be expected over time.

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have previous experience working within an office / administration environment?
Essential: Do you have advanced computer literacy skills: Advanced at Office 365, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook?
Desirable: Do you have a Certificate III in Business Administration or similar equivalent course?
Essential: Do you have the ability to work effectively within a team environment and build strong working relationships?
Essential: Do you have high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across a wide a range of individuals?
Essential: Do you have eligibility / the right to work in Australia?
