As an IT Business Analyst within Information Services, you will be the vital link to ensure technology solutions are delivered to support our clients and in turn, support the Cairns community.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Has at least 5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst
• Demonstrated experience working closely with a broad range of stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in conducting requirement workshops and producing documentation
• Ability to translate business needs into use cases or user stories and other technical requirements
• Sound knowledge of IT projects and delivery, including an understanding of Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies
• Tertiary qualification and/or relevant professional qualifications in Information Management, Information Technology (IT), Business Analysis or Project Management related discipline.
• Experience developing procedures, manuals and other technical documentation for end users
• A team player with a positive, pro-active and customer focused attitude

Your Team:

The Information Services team is dedicated to supporting over 1,200 employees and is responsible for delivering a broad range of information technology solutions, in order to achieve business objectives and service to the Cairns community. 

This position sits within the Business Engagement team, which is responsible for effective strategic engagement between Information Services Branch and all Council departments, to understand and assist with the delivery of strategic initiatives via a diverse portfolio of ICT projects. The position plays a key role in working collaboratively with the Information Services Project Delivery team to support project planning, design and build activities, to ensure ICT solutions meet Council objectives and provides value for money.
